What is a Smash Burger?
When we hear “Smash Burger”, most of us think of the restaurant chain and assume that the term originated with them. Smash burgers have actually been around for a long time and derive their name from being “smashed” on the flat top. A traditional burger is a tightly packed patty, pre-formed and typically grilled, whereas a smash burger is a much more loosely packed ball of meat, placed on the flat top and “smashed” into shape with a weight. This allows for a nicer brown, which both seals in the moisture and creates the flavor which we all know and love from our burgers.
Philly Philly decided to bring the smash burger to the Pennridge area and it’s a welcome addition according to our customers. Never had a smash burger? Come in and see for yourself. We use high quality ground beef and some of the most amazing rolls you’ll find here.
